Congratulations to the Adena High School Concert Band for earning an overall Excellent (II) rating at the Ohio Music Education Association Large Group Adjudicated Event. They performed three selections for three judges who each gave them an Excellent rating. They also performed a piece never seen by them for a Superior (I) rating. The band's next perform will be during the Festival of Bands concert on Tuesday, May 13 at 7:00 PM.
Middle School yearbooks are on sale!!! This full color yearbook will include students and events which will provide many lasting memories. The cost of the yearbook is $14 and is on sale until April 4.
FCS News - Fellowship of Christian Students will be starting a chapter for middle school students. The first meeting will be held on Tuesday, March 18 during lunch. Any middle student interested in joining should come to Mrs. Mess’ room. Pizza will be served during the first meeting. Meetings will be held every Tuesday during lunch.
The Adena HS National Honor Society is sponsoring a Black Light Dance for students in grades 6-8, on Friday, March 14, from 7:00-9:00. Admission is $5.00 per person. Advance tickets will be on sale next week, March 10-14. MS students can also purchase tickets at the door. Wear white, and you'll be bright!
Market Day pick up date for next week has been cancelled. The new date is March 27th, so you have until March 22nd to order. High School and Middle Students will be selling the pies for a fundraiser. Those orders will be due at the same time. You can give your orders to Mrs. Postage or order on line. Order from Market Day and support both the high school and middle school!!
Pop Tab Collection - The middle school newspaper staff is sponsoring a pop tab collection in support of Children’s Hospital. The competition to collect the most is between the 6th, 7th, and 8th grades. The grade level which collects the most will receive a free afternoon with a movie, snacks and dodge ball. Pop tabs can be turned into Mrs. Postage, and the contest runs from now until March 28. Sorry – no colored tabs can be accepted.
CONGRATULATIONS TO OUR MIDDLE SCHOOL POWER OF THE PEN TEAM MEMBERS WHO QUALIFIED FOR THE REGIONALS !!!! From 7th grade the qualifiers are Maddie Huff, Brandon Wheeler, and Rebecca Smith. From the 8th grade, the qualifiers are Maddy Sellers and Kayla Umphries. These students will be competing at the Regional level on March 29th at Chillicothe Middle School. GOOD LUCK!!!
