Early Childhood Education Grant Information
Each year, the federal government publishes a chart with new income guidelines. If your gross household income is at or below the amount listed for the number of people living in your household, you may qualify for a grant spot. Your income will be verified by the school. Children must be 4 on or before October 1 of that school year.
Enrollment
Our preschool program is exclusively for students who reside within Adena Local School District. We do not accept open enrollment.
For the current school year, please contact Kacey Shaffer, Preschool Supervisor, at 740-998-5293 to express interest. If the program is full, we will accept applications for our waiting list. Students are placed into the program on a first come, first served basis. Priority is given to students who are 4 years of age.
For each school year, we will begin our enrollment process on February 1. Information will be posted here and on our Adena Local Schools Facebook page. Please check back for updates!
We accept enrollment of children ages 3-5 with disabilities at any time during the school year. If you suspect your child has developmental delays or deficits in speech, communication, vision, hearing, self-help, social-emotional, behavioral or cognitive skills, please contact Kacey Shaffer at 740-998-5293.
Placement within our program is based on multiple factors and is at the discretion of the Preschool Supervisor to determine enrollment. When classes are full, children will be placed on a waiting list for an open spot.
Transportation
Adena does provide transportation to students attending our preschool program. Students are permitted to ride to and from their home address. Families can also request one additional “second stop.” That form must be completed and approved in advance.
Lunch
All preschool classrooms are scheduled to have lunch in our school cafeteria. Students can purchase a tray lunch from the cafeteria or can bring a packed lunch. To access the school lunch menu, check under Dining on the Adena Local Schools website.
